Happy Thursday!

I was overjoyed and ecstatic to have your students in class this week! It has been so nice getting to know them!

This Week:

  • We:
    • Read some great stories: First Day Jitters, How to Get Your Teacher Ready, Have You Filled a Bucket Today?, Amelia Bedelia’s First Day of School
      • They also wrote their own stories about how they would get their teacher ready.
    • Discussed their bags and got to learn about each other, as well as played 2 Truths 1 Lie and 4 Corners
    • Began reviewing our math facts with some addition coloring sheets
    • Began talking about science and started our interactive science notebooks, as well as our math interactive notebooks

Next Week:

  • We will begin our Math & English curriculum.
  • Our spelling words for next week:
    • has, wag, bad, six, will, sat, had, fix, him, if, can, hit, why, for, help
      • We will be having a review test on Friday. These are practice tests as they will be opening up the test and reviewing their missed words, but any support you can give them at home is huge. 🙂

Paper Drive

Our annual beginning of the year PAPER DRIVE is in full effect as of yesterday. The class with the MOST points will receive a teacher reward for participating is $150.00 classroom fund. Write your teacher’s name on the paper and send it to the front office. Here is how the points work: White Ream of Paper =3 points

 

Also, please let me know if you are interested in volunteering for our Junior Achievement program! I am looking for 1 or 2 volunteers! The time commitment includes one observation visit and presenting five to six interactive sessions! Each session takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes and are hands-on experiences designed to be led by a volunteer!

Our JA Training Dates are:

Tuesday, August 8th 3:45-4:45 (Virtual)

Tuesday, August 15 3:45-4:45 (On Campus)
