Happy Thursday, Families!

It has been another busy week in 2nd grade! We have been finishing up our topic about arrays in math, which is a tool that will assist them with multiplication in the future. Next week, we will be moving into addition and subtraction up to 100. In English, we are starting a new topic about how are animal babies are similar and different to their parents. Our first animal we have talked about were penguins. In Science, we had a great day learning about how glass can be shaped and watched some amazing videos of glass art and how these artists are shaping the glass with fire.

Thank you for your support regarding toys vs. tools as I have noticed that this week we had a lot less distractions! 🙂

Green Folders:

Every Friday, we will be sending home a green folder with your student. Students should be bringing them back on Monday. Please go through these with your students as I try to make notes. In the folder there is work that they should keep at home. I have also added any work in there that they did not complete throughout the week. I appreciate all of your support as I am providing extra time after lunch (besides morning arrival and dismissal time) to work on sheets that they had not yet completed.

Google Classroom:

Thank you to all the parents who have signed their students into Google Classroom. I have had about 13 students signed in so I am still waiting for about 10. Please let me know if you have any questions or are unable to get onto Gmail as I can have administration reset passwords.

School Information:

  • Tomorrow is our “Grandparent’s Day” Lunch. While this lunch is to celebrate the official national Grandparent’s Day, which is Sunday September 12th, we recognize that not all grandparents can be with us tomorrow. Lunch is open for special guests, not just grandparents. Due to COVID and being cognizant of our space constraints, we will be limiting it to two visitors per student.  Thank you for your understanding. We are really asking that everyone RSVP prior to coming so that we know how many seats to have set up. Please use the link below to RSVP grandparents and special guests.
