I was overjoyed and ecstatic to have your students in class this week! 🙂 They worked so hard!

New Information:

  • Gifted testing is coming up. All 2nd grade students participate in this test! 🙂

  • Learning Celebration: Unfortunately I will be out of town on February 3rd so I will not be here for The Learning Celebration. I apologize and appreciate your understanding. The guest teacher has agreed to have parents come into the class between 1pm-3:30pm for you to look at your student’s work. The student will be picked up from the classroom and there will be no drive lane that day.
  • Valentine’s Day: It’s almost time to celebrate our Valentines (FRIENDS)! Second grade will be celebrating in our classrooms on February 14th by sharing Valentines and some fun activities during our normal school day. If your student would like to make Valentines for their classmates, they are welcome to, as long as one is made for each student in their classroom. A class list is attached. Valentine boxes or bags (to collect their Valentines) must be decorated at home and brought in for that day. If anyone is in need of bags or Valentine’s cards, please let me know. Please note our NO SWEETS and NO NUTS policy. Stickers are an amazing alternative! Also, let me know if you want to bring in a HEALTHY snack for your student to share. 🙂

This Week:

  • We:
    • read poems about nature this week and talked about how nature is wonderful.
    • finished our triple digit addition unit and took our unit test. We will begin our lesson in triple digit subtraction.
    • finished up our Crayola Creativity Week. We spoke about emotions / weather and self-confidence.
    • talked about alliterations today and students had fun trying to make alliterations with their names.
