Happy Thursday, Families!

It was a busy week in 2nd grade! We have been busy this week reviewing our strategies for 2 digit subtraction, as well as working on our spelling words this week and reviewing contractions! We read a few wonderful stories about: 1. a woman who went to different villages to help them learn about solar and implement a plan to install it… 2. a group of women who began to recycle and clean up plastic bags… 3. a man who would take books on a burro to different areas where kids didn’t have books… 4. a fire fighter expository text and learned about the day in the life…! We have learned why all trees don’t lose their leaves, as well as discussed what we believe will be invented in the future!

Next Week’s Curriculum:

We will be begin working on Unit 4 of our Wonders Curriculum. Week 3 of this curriculum will include: fiction stories, contractions, past & future tense verbs.

Spelling words: told, most, float, coat, toast, grow, mow, show, Joe, toe, light, mind, only, our, who.

We will continue our unit on our double digit subtraction next week and tips to become more fluent when solving subtraction.

We will also be doing some fun Thanksgiving projects! 🙂
