Happy Thursday, Families!
It was a busy week in 2nd grade! We had Art Masterpiece today, where they have started working on a Thankful Art Project! They can’t wait to share it with you at The Learning Celebration! We have continued working on some poetry this week and beginning to write a book! So far, we have the planning page completed! In History, we talked when was basketball created and how it may look different depending on the culture! In math, we have started learning strategies to understand how to solve for double digit subtraction!
Next Week’s Curriculum:
We will be begin working on Unit 3 of our Wonders Curriculum. The beginning of the unit will include: Narrative Nonfiction Stories, contractions, action verbs, and book title grammar.
Spelling words: nail, train, main, hay, stay, break, steak, weigh, sleigh, prey, scrape, strange, good, often, two
We will continue our unit on our double digit subtraction next week and learning different strategies to understand how to solve for the answers.

School Information:
- The Winter Concert is Wednesday, December 15th. It will be held at Mission Church (4450 E. Elliot Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85234). - Your child will need to arrive 30 minutes before show time. 2nd grade is 5:00-5:30pm so have them there at 4:30pm.
- The dress code for the concert is black bottoms (skirt, pants, leggings, etc.), a white blouse or nice top, and the child’s choice of winter/holiday accessories (festive bows, scarves, ties, necklaces, or hats).
