Sibley’s Super Stars – Weekly Newsletter 1/12/2024
Happy Friday!
I was overjoyed and ecstatic to have your students in class this week! 🙂 They worked so hard! AND we had so much fun on our field trip today!!!
New Information:
- 100TH DAY OF SCHOOL:
- The 100th day of school is Wednesday, January 17th. If your student would like to participate, we are going to dress up as 100 year olds. 🙂
This Week:
- We:
- read a great story regarding how children are different around the world. It was a realistic fiction story about cousins: a little boy from Mexico that lives on a farm and a little boy from United States that lives in the city.
- read another story about a student in Japan and learned how their lunches, greetings, and uniforms (including their indoor / outdoor shoes) are different
- learned about some really cool New Years festivals around the world including water gun fights in Thailand for blessings and lion dances for the Lunar New Year.
- reviewed numbers up to 1,000 in regards to place value, standard form, expanded form, word form… This will get us ready for 3 digit addition next week.
- learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and talked about our dreams to make the world a better place.
Next Week:
- Spelling Words: port, north, more, store, oar, roar, board, part, start, park, first, hurt, ago, carry, people
School Information:
- Please see my other email regarding music information from our amazing Ms. Cabrera and yearbook information.
I am very much looking forward to another wonderful week! Do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions that you may have!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sibley
