Happy Thursday!

I was overjoyed and ecstatic to have your students in class this week! 🙂 They worked so hard!

New Information:

  • The 100 day of school is THIS Tuesday, January 17th. Please encourage your student to dress up as a 100 year old. 🙂
  • Gifted testing is coming up in February! It is free for 2nd grade and all the students participate in this test! 🙂

This Week:

  • We:
    • read a great story regarding how children are different around the world. It was a realistic fiction story about cousins: a little boy from Mexico that lives on a farm and a little boy from United States that lives in the city.
    • reviewed numbers up to 1,000 in regards to place value, standard form, expanded form, word form… This will get us ready for 3 digit addition next week.
      • we have some students working on multiplication, division, perimeter, area, and symmetry
    • learned about Ton Schulton, a Dutch painter, who is known for painting landscapes. The students got to make their own landscapes in Art Masterpiece.
    • will learn about Martin Luther King Jr. tomorrow and talk about our dreams.
    • read books about friendship and talked about filling buckets.
