Happy Thursday!

I was overjoyed and ecstatic to have your students in class this week! We have been busy!

New Information:

  • SPELLING BEE: Recker will be hosting it’s annual Spelling Bee on Friday, January 6th. Mrs. Sibley’s class will be hosting our own Spelling Bee on Monday, November 28th. The winner will be participating in the Recker Spelling Bee against the other classes. Participation is not mandatory, but I will provide spelling lists so that they can practice at home.
  • CLASSROOM VOLUNTEERS: Do you want to volunteer in the classroom or hang out with your student at lunch? I’d love to have you! Please sign up here. You must have your Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • PAPER DRIVE: Our annual beginning of the year Paper Drive is in full effect starting Monday, October 10th– December 9th. The class with the MOST points will receive a teacher reward of $100 for their classroom. Write Sibley on the paper and send it to the front office.
  • FOOD DRIVE: We will be hosting a Food and Toy Drive on behalf United Food Bank from 11/7 to 11/22. Food items needed: canned food (meats, fruits, vegetables, soups, stews, chili), cereals, rice, pasta… Suggested toys needed: toys, board games, art supplies, crafting, books… Please have your students bring it to class as the box is sitting outside my door.

  • WATER BOTTLES: We are collecting empty plastic water bottles for an art project coming up. If you could please send them with your student, we would appreciate it.
  • CHARLIE BROWN THANKSGIVING: Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is on Wednesday, November 23rd. Occurring the day before Thanksgiving, Charlie Brown Thanksgiving is a tradition at San Tan Charter! Dr. and Mrs. Sippel began this tradition in the first Montessori Preschool class with bean soup. The tradition continues for families by bringing their own lunch and eating it picnic style outside as a community and bringing desserts to share. We will open the front doors starting at 10:30am. There is NO drive lane this day and parents will pick up their student from the class.

    • continued practicing our double digit subtraction in regards to regrouping or not regrouping.
    • learned about Veteran’s Day and wrote a letter to a soldier.
