Happy Friday!

I was overjoyed and ecstatic to have your students in class this week! We have been busy!

New Information:

  • FIELD TRIP: On October, 21st, we will be going to  Schnepf Farms for our first field trip of this year! If you would like to chaperone, please let me know ASAP as it is first come first serve. You MUST have your fingerprint clearance cards. Payment for the field trip is due no later than Friday, October 7, 2022. We will send out more information as we get closer, but we will kindly ask for all students to bring a disposable lunch and water that day so they can throw their lunch away  https://yqysjrrxph.formstack.com/forms/schnepf_farms_2nd_grade

Past Newsletter Information:

  • HOMEWORK: We encourage all of our students to read for at least 20 minutes every night. I will also be assigning work that they can do at home (including: fun ELA & math games) on their Google Classroom. This is not required homework and can be worked on throughout the year. It is just additional practice and hopefully they will have some fun with the games. There is also a fun FREE math game called Prodigy that my students LOVED last year. There is also https://www.teachyourmonster.org/ which is a fun FREE ELA game.
  • WEEKLY NOTEBOOKS: I send home their work on Fridays. Please review it as I put notes on them and you can see what we are doing in class. Reach out if you ever have any questions.

  • We:
    • began learning about baby animals with a focus on eagles/eaglets and baby bears.
    • continued our double digit addition. We will be working on more regrouping.
    • learned about bird feeders and how they attract different types of birds.
    • had contraction surgery today and dressed up as doctors.
    • had Art Masterpiece, where they learned about Piet Mondrian (b. 1872 d. 1944) and his painting, Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow.
